1981

The beginning

István Moldován, buys the building site of the restaurant from the Solymár Municipality Council. The construction will start this year with self-financing. The construction is being led by the owner himself, with the help of friends!

21 APRIL 1984.

We opened

On 21 April 1984, the restaurant starts its operation under the name of Golden Crown Restaurant, one of the first privately owned catering establishments in Hungary at that time. At that time, the restaurant had a capacity of 60 seats in the restaurant section, 15 seats on the terrace, 15 seats in the press room and a classic wine bar with a capacity of 20 seats. In addition to István Moldovan and his wife, the restaurant was run by 2 cooks, 2 waiters, 1 kitchen maid and 1 barman.

1990

Rebuilding

The restaurant will be rebuilt. The patio area will be attached to the existing restaurant area as an enclosed room, so that the restaurant area of the restaurant will be able to seat up to 80 people. The land behind the building will be converted into a covered summer terrace for 25 people.

1997

We are growing

The management is complemented by the owner's daughter Angelika and son István, both of whom are skilled workers helping the business.
This year the restaurant will be expanded again. The covered terrace area is attached to the restaurant and begins to operate as a glass conservatory with a fireplace. The restaurant can now accommodate 110 people.

2002-2006

Extra square metres

The restaurant area has been increased by 300 square metres to allow for further expansion and modernisation of the building.

2006

We are developing

The number of staff will be increased to 16.
At the beginning of the year, the Moldovan family will receive permission from the Municipality of Solymár to further expand and develop the hotel to meet the needs and requirements of the clientele.
On 4 October, demolition and construction work will begin, led by the "two Moldováns".

2007

We are renewing

On 1 December, the new Golden Crown will open, completely refurbished. Meeting room, conference room, café-breakfast room, terrace, garden area, hotel rooms and a renewed restaurant.
