The history of Aranykorona Restaurant
• 1981. István Moldován purchased the building plot of the restaurant from the Council of Solymár. Building operations started in this year from own sources. The works are led by the owner itself - friends join together! • On 20th April, 1984 the finished restaurant receive landscape permission and operational license that both are necessary for starting the operation. • On 21st April, 1984the restaurant starts its operation as Aranykorona Restaurant. This is the first private-owned catering business of Hungary at that time. The capacity of the restaurant was 60 people; it had a terrace for 15 people, a coffee-room for 15 people and a classic winery for 20 people. The restaurant was operated by István Moldovan and his wife and there were also 2 chefs, 2 parlor-maids, 1 kitchen-maid and 1 bar-keeper. • 1990: The restaurant was restructured. The terrace was attached to the restaurant as closed hall; therefore the restaurant can house 80 people. The plot behind the building was restructured to a covered summer terrace that is perfect for 25 persons. • 1997: The management of the restaurant is completed by the daughter of the owner Angelika and by his son, István. Both of them are professionals. This year the restaurant is expanded again. The covered terrace is attached to the restaurant and starts it operation as winter-garden. Therefore the restaurant is capable to the housing of 110 persons. • 1998: From 1st of January the family business operates as an LTD. • 2000: The production areas of the kitchen are enhanced by 60 nm. • 2001-2002: The kitchen equipments are replaced. • 2003-2004: Storage rooms are enlarged and modernized. • From 2003: The staff of the restaurant is 12. • 2000-2006: The total area of the restaurant is enlarged by 300 nm in order to further modernization and expansion of the building. • In 2006: The number of staff is 16. • At the beginning of 2006: Moldován Family receives the approval from the Municipality of Solymár for further modernization and expansion in order to fulfill the requirements and supplies of their guests. • 4th October 2006: Breaking and building works have been started by the management of the "two Moldován". • 2007: On 1st of December the new, completely rebuild Aranykorona restaurant has been opened. Meeting room, conference room, breakfast room, coffee-room, terrace, garden, hotel rooms and a renewed restaurant!
